ARKANSAS COMPUTER SCIENCE INITIATIVE LOGO

I was approached by the state department of education to create a new logo design for their computer science education initiative. In the initial design phase I explored the diamond shape iconically associated with the state of Arkansas. I wanted to find an association with the inherent geometric shape and the components of computer science and technology. Since it would be a design representing a state agency, I also explored finding a similar geometric association with the basic shape and outline of the state of Arkansas. I landed on the theme of ‘lines of code’ building these simple shapes. In the final design represents the concept of ‘creating with code’ and the growing integral nature of STEM fields in Arkansas.
